Poppintree Park is a large community park between Ballymun, Finglas and Glasnevin on Dublin’s Northside. It combines active recreation with nature features, making it one of the more varied local parks in this part of the city.
The tree trail and wetland areas add interest beyond the playing fields. Visitors can look for seasonal wildflowers, pond life and bird activity while following paths around the park.
Poppintree includes GAA, rugby and soccer pitches as well as changing facilities and a playground. The amphitheatre also gives the park a community-event function that is unusual among neighbourhood parks.
Spring through early autumn offers the best combination of long daylight, active wildlife and comfortable walking conditions. Seasonal gate times apply.
