Statue Of Liberty National Monument

The Statue of Liberty National Monument is located on Liberty Island in New York. The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States. It was dedicated by President Grover Cleveland on October 28, 1886, and is recognized as a symbol of freedom and democracy. Designated a National Monument in 1924, it has been cared for by the National Park Service since 1933.
