Ste. Geneviève National Historical Park

Ste. Geneviève National Historical Park is in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Ste. Geneviève was established by 1750 as the first permanent European settlement in Missouri. Early French Canadian settlers were drawn by the rich agricultural land known as Le Grand Champ, or the Big Field. After the flood of 1785, the town relocated about three miles northwest to higher ground. The park is operated by the National Park Service and is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
