About the Park
Waco Mammoth National Monument is located in Waco, Texas. Columbian mammoths that stood as tall as 14 feet and weighed up to 20,000 pounds once roamed the region. The fossil specimens are the nation's first and only recorded evidence of a nursery herd of Ice Age Columbian mammoths.
