About the Park
Russell Cave National Monument is an archaeological site with a record of prehistoric cultures in the Southeast. Archaeologists uncovered artifacts representing 12,000 years of use in a single place during excavations in the 1950s. Visitors cannot enter the cave. The artifacts provide information about cultural developments and human journeys.
