North Bull Island is one of Dublin’s most important natural landscapes. Located in Dublin Bay, it is a national nature reserve with beaches, dunes, grasslands and internationally significant habitats for birds and other wildlife.
The island supports a rich mix of coastal habitats and is especially important for migratory and wintering birds. Dunes and grasslands create excellent walking and wildlife-watching opportunities close to the city.
The exposed coastal setting attracts walkers and, when conditions are suitable, activities such as kitesurfing. Visitors should remember that this is a protected environment and avoid disturbing wildlife or sensitive dune areas.
