Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is located at 28 East 20th Street in New York City. It is the boyhood home of Theodore Roosevelt, the first U.S. president to be born in New York City. Roosevelt grew up in the townhouse before becoming the 26th president of the United States. As a boy, he exercised to improve his health and developed a lifelong passion for the "strenuous life."
